The statement, released on February 25, 2026 , characterizes recent opposition to the formation of this Kurdish alliance as "hysterical and hate-mongering reactions" from groups they describe as opponents of democratic freedoms.
The Alliance denounced Pahlavi’s recent post on the X platform, in which he suggested tasking the army with suppressing Kurdish movements following the potential fall of the Islamic Republic. The Kurdish groups argued that such a stance proves his vision for a future Iran remains "security-oriented and military," mirroring the oppressive structures of both past and present regimes.
Responding to the long-standing charge of separatism, the statement pointed to historical territorial concessions made during the Pahlavi era—specifically mentioning Bahrain and Lesser Ararat—to argue that the Kurdish movement has been unfairly targeted by those with a history of compromising Iranian soil.
The Alliance accused Pahlavi and his "suspicious inner circle" of causing division within the opposition during the Jina (Woman, Life, Freedom) movement. They further alleged that his "false promises" regarding mass defections in the military and the widespread availability of Starlink devices led many protesters into the "trap" of the current regime’s security forces.
In response to Pahlavi’s claims of Kurdish collaboration with Khomeini, the Alliance reminded the public that while Kurdistan was under attack by the Islamic Republic’s forces in 1979, Pahlavi himself had repeatedly requested to serve as a pilot under the new revolutionary government.
